The Oivo VR Headset is a light weight and comfortable feeling headset
The Oivo VR Headset is a light weight and comfortable feeling headset. It is a premium headset compared to the first party VR headset by Nintendo that’s made out of cardboard, at less than half the price than even Nintendo’s basic VR kits. With the Switch attached, it may weigh down and add some pressure to your nose and the front of your head slightly, thankfully your hands on the system help alleviate some of the pressure. If you want to play the games compatible with VR mode, this would be the headset to get, unfortunately there are currently only 6 games compatible with VR for the Switch with varying degrees of VR features. The Switch may not be the best system for VR gaming, but it does have VR games for it that you simply can’t get anywhere else, unlocking their full features and bonus content. I tried it with Super Mario Odyssey, and at first I felt a little uneasy in VR mode, but didn’t have any uneasy feelings playing in VR mode the second time. For me, the Oivo VR Headset is a good accessory to have if you own or plan on owning the VR compatible games for it.

Does not work with Original Nintendo Switch (and an adult face)
This item has two adjustable wheels. The one on the front adjusts focus, which works perfectly, and the other adjusts the eye piece to the left and right to line up with the screen. Unfortunately, with an Original Nintendo Switch and an Adult Face the eye piece cannot move physically close enough together to see the entire screen. As a consequence it induces permanent double vision since the pictures do not match up.I might believe that this would work with the Switch Lite since the screen is smaller, but I doubt that this would work with an OLED since that screen is even bigger. If it adjusted for eyes that are just a little bit wider, or if my face could get a little bit deeper into this, I think it would work. A child’s eyes are not set wider than an adult’s but their faces could get deeper into it, so it MIGHT work on a child’s face. I don’t know. In that case it MIGHT also work for the OLED, despite being larger. This either needs to be redesigned to work with a wider variety of faces or it needs to be marketed for only the Switch models that it’s tested to work with a wide variety of faces or only marketed for age groups that it is tested to work on.

    Works great!
This VR headset for the switch was super easy to figure out how to use, it works super good & is very fun. Toads treasure tracker was the best vr game on it. It’s made super well & holds the switch very sturdy. The head straps are very easy to adjust. Love it

Not What I Was Hoping For
The reason I bought this Is because LCD screens)which should be Illegal for manufacturers to make any more along with anything that uses micro USB and Triple A Batteries) are always getting broken or go bad Its time they quit making LCD and make only OLED or something better even the old CRT were Not as bad of being broken or going out as LCD……anyway Not having a large screen I wanted someone I could use with My Nintendo Switch and Smartphone to watch movies, here Is the problem It does Not work with regular games and smartphone viewing It does but can Not see the center of the screen can only see the left and right side of the screen, If You can put up with that then Its good for watching movies on just like watching on a large screen…..For Vertual Reality or 3 D what ever want to call It, I have Mario Odyssey there are a few levels that are VR Its way cool but Its Not high resolution probably around 360 P Not 1080 P that We are now used to, Its way cool to look around You turn Your head but then as You go to do something Mario goes so far away that can Not tell what Is happening, so Its Not good for gaming unless the video game was made for this…….The construction It Is very well made I do Not know If the lenses are glass or plastic but If Its plastic It does Not seem to be the cheap plastic the picture quality Is very clear great for watching movies on just can Not see center of screen unless the movie Is made for this …… It Is very heavy especially If You have a heavy smartphone or Nintendo Switch the elastic straps are Not strong enough to keep It from sliding down on face and pinching nose It Is uncomfortable but okay If laying down but still heavy though 😉

    Cool but confusing
I bought this for my 10 year old daughter. She loves it now that it works but getting it to work was difficult. We are playing Mario Odyssey. The VR headset nor game says that you have to complete the first boss to unlock the game that is accesible through VR. If you don’t play the actual regular game first, a bunch of question marks come up on the headset and there is no game to play. I searched the internet for hours and ONLY one gamer suggested this. That is what worked. Sad to know that no one else knew this and if they do, it’s not said anywhere that I could find. So as for the instructions, they are missing that very VITAL piece of information! The instructions read like the set up is quick…not so much.

    Doesn’t really work
This will leave the picture out of focus, or double vision. After having it for a day I returned it because no Nintendo game actually worked on it. Just buy an actual VR box for your phone.

Works great for super Mario brothers deluxe.
I used this with Mario brothers deluxe. I am going to get Zelda breath of the wild. It is cool you can move your head around to see things in VR. It is very cool!!!

Helps gaming kids be a bit more active.
I bought this for my sons birthday and he really enjoys it. It’s nice because it hooks up with my switch so he can still play his games that are compatible but it gets him moving a bit more. I just wish there were more compatible games.

Good starter glasses for VR novicesSince I was still quite inexperienced in the field of VR glasses, the choice fell on the inexpensive variant from OIVO. The glasses were delivered carefully packaged and seemed robust and high-quality for the price category at first glance. There were protective films on the lenses and the general appearance was positive. The VR goggles work with the Switch OLED and the regular Switch model. I tried out the latter. The Switch isn’t exactly light, so it was very welcome that the goggles themselves weigh almost nothing. Attaching the Switch is easy with the help of a Velcro strap (see video). You’re ready to go after a few adjustments in the game menu you’ve chosen. The elastic band, which is stretched over the back of the head, provides good comfort and is easily adjustable. While the Switch sits snugly on the nose thanks to the nature of the goggles, it feels a bit heavy and can’t be worn for more than two hours at a time, though this may vary from person to person.I never had the feeling that the Switch could slip out. Fortunately, attention was paid to that in the product design department. For the lens settings, there are two wheels that can be used to adjust distance and focus.I tested games like Breath of the Wild, Super Smash Bros, and Mario Odyssey.Of course, BotW was the most fun. The VR experience is of course great for someone who has never tried it. The feeling that I could not achieve the full image sharpness is due to the fact that I usually wear glasses, but for what the glasses promise, you can’t complain. You have to get used to the controls while playing with the VR Glasses, but this quickly settles in.The only disappointing thing was that Nintendo didn’t think about Mario Odyssey and simply provided videos from the game as a VR experience. What was nice was that OIVO wrote in the manual which games work with the glasses. In general, playing Breath of the Wild alone was a great experience. I hope there are more games coming out that support it.
