Very decent pull-up bar
So far so good. Simple, sturdy and fairly easy to install. The grip feels fine. Make sure you measure your door frame before buying to ensure you will be able to install the bar. Pro tip: don't put the screws in the middle as suggested in the instructions (which is what I did). A better placement would be to put the upper screws on the outside end and the lower screws on the inside end. That way you will help the installation to better withstand the torque created when you are pulling (especially when using the neutral grip).

For $40 I was pretty skeptical about whether this would be sturdy enough, but it works great. At 200 lbs I'm not heavy but I'm not a lightweight either, and this thing doesn't flex at all during pull-ups. Very good quality construction that feels solid and secure. Came very timely with good packaging and everything arrived intact. Installation was pretty easy with decent instructions, and they even included extra screws which is a nice touch. The joist mount design is rock solid once properly installed. For anyone wanting a home gym pull-up bar without spending hundreds, this delivers way more quality than the price suggests. Highly recommend.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This mount pull-up bar is very sturdy and perfect for kids. My daughter loves using it every day, and it feels very secure once installed. It’s a great way to keep kids active and having fun at home.

The only small limitation is the design. Because of the extended handle bars, the door cannot close completely when it’s installed above the doorway. We mounted ours above the entrance between the bedroom and bathroom so it’s easily accessible for daily use. As long as you plan the location accordingly, it works great!

I’m extremely impressed with the Fitarc Joist Mount Pull Up Bar. The steel construction feels solid and durable right out of the box, and once installed into ceiling joists, it feels incredibly secure. There’s no wobble or flex during pull-ups, chin-ups, or hanging leg raises, which really boosts confidence during workouts.

The mounting hardware feels heavy duty, and the design distributes weight well across the joists. The grip width is comfortable and gives enough space for different hand positions, making it versatile for various upper-body exercises.

Installation does require proper alignment with ceiling beams, but once mounted correctly, it feels very stable. The finish looks clean and professional, and it doesn’t take up much visual space in a garage or home gym setup.

Overall, this pull-up bar delivers exactly what you want in a ceiling-mounted unit: strength, stability, and reliability. Great value for a heavy-duty piece of equipment.

Solid, affordable choice for this sort of pull-up bar.

Reviewed in Canada on April 21, 2024

Size: Joist Mounted Fit for 8-9ft BeamsVerified Purchase

This review assumes that you're looking for an affordable pull up bar and understand that it comes with some compromises as compared to the expensive ones. For example, if you want a solid bar with no seams, you probably have to pay way more.

I wanted to get better at pull ups and the only way to do that is to do more pull ups. Unfortunately, the way my house is built the only option I had was to get a joist mounted bar and put it up in my laundry room.

Assembly of the bar itself was easy. Installation was a bit more complicated because I have metal ceiling joists. The included hardware is for wood/concrete mounting only. So, I had to make a run to the hardware store to get some nuts and lock bolts.

The bar works well for doing pull ups. It has a variety of hand placement options to accommodate anything from wide grip to narrow grip. How much extension you can get at the top will be a YMMV situation depending on how much headroom you have. If that's really a consideration make sure you do some measurements before you buy. You might be better off with a wall mounted bar (more $$$, takes up more space) or a freestanding pull up bar (more $$$ and takes up floor space).
