Exercise Stepper w Resistance Bands
This exercise stepper is really good quality and has some weight to it. It came with 2 resistance bands that get attached with a hook, so they’re optional. It also came with a mat to protect my rug and the whole unit is small, so I can keep it in a corner near the TV so I’m not bored and it doesn’t get in the way. If I don’t feel like using it there I can easily pick it up and move it around wherever I want.

I was skeptical that this was going to do anything, but I’ve noticed since I started using it that my thighs and glutes have gotten tighter. I don’t feel the cables do anything, but maybe I’m just not using it properly.

The APEXUP Stepper is an inexpensive and space-saving solution for anyone looking to get a lower body and cardio workout at home. This mini stepper comes with resistance bands and a mat, and boasts a 330lbs loading capacity. It also includes an LCD monitor to track your workout progress. While the product description suggests it offers a "full body workout," I'd say that's slightly misleading. The stepper primarily targets your lower body, specifically your calves, thighs, and glutes. The included resistance bands do allow you to incorporate some upper body exercises, but the focus remains on the legs. Here's a breakdown of the key features and what makes this stepper a worthwhile investment:Compact and Space-Saving: One of the biggest advantages of this stepper is its small footprint. It's perfect for those living in apartments or with limited space for home gym equipment. It can easily be stored in a closet or under a bed when not in use.Lower Body and Cardio Focus: This stepper excels at providing a good lower body workout. The stepping motion engages your leg muscles and gets your heart rate up, making it an effective tool for improving cardiovascular health and toning your legs and glutes.Resistance Bands for Added Versatility: The included resistance bands allow you to incorporate some upper body exercises, such as bicep curls, shoulder presses, and rows. While it doesn't replace a full upper body workout, it adds a bit more versatility to the stepper.LCD Monitor: The built-in LCD monitor tracks your step count, time, calories burned, and other workout data. This helps you monitor your progress and stay motivated.Sturdy Construction: The APEXUP Stepper is surprisingly sturdy, with a 330lbs weight capacity. This gives you confidence during your workout. Affordable Price: Compared to other cardio equipment like treadmills or ellipticals, this stepper is very budget friendly. It's a great option for those who want to get in shape without breaking the bank. In conclusion, the APEXUP Stepper is a great choice for anyone looking for an inexpensive and space-saving way to get a lower body and cardio workout at home. While it may not provide a true full-body workout, it's effective for targeting your legs and glutes, improving your cardiovascular health, and adding some upper body work with the resistance bands.

    Low impact, high burn

    Design & Setup:
It arrived mostly pre-assembled, which I appreciated. Setup took less than 10 minutes, and it’s small enough to fit easily in my living room without taking over the space. I can slide it under the couch when I’m done.

    Workout Performance:
The stepping motion is smooth and surprisingly challenging, especially when you increase the resistance. It’s a great cardio workout and really gets your heart rate up in just a few minutes. The adjustable resistance allows you to tailor the intensity—perfect whether you’re easing into exercise or looking for a more vigorous session.

    Resistance Bands:
The built-in resistance bands are a nice bonus. I wasn’t sure how useful they’d be, but they really do help turn a simple leg workout into a full-body session. You can work your arms, shoulders, and even core with the right movements. The bands feel sturdy and offer a good amount of tension.

    Noise Level:
It’s quiet enough to use during a Zoom call or while watching TV. There’s a light mechanical sound from the hydraulic system, but nothing distracting.

    Stability & Build:
I’m always a little wary with compact fitness equipment, but this stepper feels stable and solid even during higher resistance workouts. The non-slip pedals and the rubber feet help it stay in place on my hardwood floor.

    Final Thoughts:
This stair stepper is perfect for squeezing in workouts during breaks or while watching TV. It’s low-impact but highly effective, and with the resistance bands and adjustable settings, it offers a surprising variety of workout options. Great for small spaces, busy schedules, or anyone looking to keep moving at home.

Love the stepper, but the pulley wheel should be sturdier.

I was so happy to get his stepper and I enjoy using it. It's such a convenient way to exercise indoors. Overall, it's a good stepper, but I have a couple of issues that I'll explain later in my review.

First of all, the stepper came with a simple felt mat to protect your floor. Most steppers don't include a mat, so it's a nice extra.. I would recommend using the mat at least for the first few time. The rubber feet left black marks the first few times I used the stepper, but it's no longer leaving marks.

The stepper is compact and fairly light so it's easy to stash away when not in use and easy to carry from room to room. I weighed it on our bathroom scale and it was just a tad over 14 pounds.

The stepper feels very secure when I'm using it. I have no fear of it tipping.

The difficulty can be adjusted by raising or lowering the height of the steps. The stepper feels more like walking uphill or walking through loose sand than walking upstairs. I can definitely feel it.

It comes with detachable resistance bands. They aren't very stretchy but I do like having them. That way I can get a more complete workout.

The pedals are a good size and have a raised lip for added security.

The monitor is a bit small but works fine. It actually did stop working at one point. It turns out that the wire that connects the monitor to the stepper wasn't pushed all the way in. I pushed it in and now it's fine.

The instructions say to use this no longer than 20 minutes at a time.. I used it 19 minutes the first time and have been keeping my sessions shorter since then. By the end of my first session, the stepper was squeaking. I squirted some oil on the the points where the cable connects to the stepper and that did the trick.

I would have rated his stepper 4 stars except for 2 issues:

    1. The hydraulics leak a bit of oil. It's not much–just a tiny bit seeps out–but it happens even when I've only used the stepper a short time. I'm not sure if it's normal or not. The stepper still works fine.

2 The other day, I got on the stepper and it wasn't working. I turned it over to see what was wrong. The cable had slipped off of the pulley wheel and was jammed tight in the housing. It took a while but I eventually got the cable back onto the pulley wheel. But then I noticed that there was a significant tear in the pulley wheel (see photo). It must have happened when I was trying to get the cable back on. I was shocked that the plastic used for the pulley wheel was soft enough to actually tear. Fortunately, I can still use the stepper.

Although it's not perfect, there is much to love about this stepper. It's a nice way to sneak in a little extra exercise.

Simple machine that is nice to add to my workout equipment. This stepper is nearly ready to go out of the box. You need to the adjustment knob on the understand to your desired step height (intensity level), and add the resistance bands. It took me a little bit to understand how to adjust the length of the bands; I had to "play with them a little" to figure them out so it's hard to explain exactly how to do that part. I didn't understand the book directions, but the bands do adjust for your desired length. A battery is already in the readout panel, and the panel starts it's functions when you start stepping with the machine. You get, time, calories, step count, and reps/min display. It seems so simple, but my legs do get a burn even after 5 min. of exercise, and they'll feel a little stressed right after I get off. You can use shoes or just socks, and it is still comfortable. I prefer socks because I get a feel of the movements better. Stairways always give me a workout, so I think this machine is a good addition to other workout activities I do. It's not fun, of course, but it's effective, and my heart rate did elevate to workout rate when I did this stepper. I think it targets areas other equipment cannot, especially glutes.

Compact, Easy To Set Up, Noisy

This is a fine stepper machine that works well for what it does. The directions are pretty easy to follow and it was very easy to set up (be sure you turn the feet of the machine so it rests on the ground, they have them turned to fit into the box.) There was a lot of grease on the tension chain/cord under the machine and it's a bit difficult to know how high/tight the steps will be unless you test it. It is a higher impact exercise for the knee joints, so if you have issues there this is not the machine or exercise for you. The tension bands aren't the best and have almost been added as an after thought, but it's nice to have if you want a little extra. I found myself "skating" on this machine, which may cause some balance issues if you end up going too fast. It can be a bit noisy as the stoppers of each step hit the bracer bar in the back, so I placed the mat over the back bar to help absorb the impact and lesson the noise. A rubber cap would have been great to have on this part. The step counter counts 2 steps as 1 and the display panel is very hard to see when you are using the device. Overall, it's fine for at home especially on days when you either can't go out or don't want to. The price feels a bit high, but the device does feel sturdy and it handed my weight (250) just fine. It gave me a nice workout before killing the top of my knees (I used to hike mountains until age hit…)
