Huge Upgrade Over Quest 2 â Absolutely Worth It!
Iâve had the Meta Quest 3 since December, and Iâve already spent well over 300 hours using itâthis thing is incredible! Compared to the Meta Quest 2, itâs a massive improvement in every way.The visual clarity is significantly better, with a much sharper and more immersive display. The performance is smoother, making games and apps feel more responsive, and the improved mixed reality features add a whole new layer of immersion. The comfort and design upgrades also make long sessions much more enjoyable.Whether youâre gaming, working out, or just exploring VR experiences, the Quest 3 is absolutely worth it. If youâre upgrading from the Quest 2, youâll immediately notice the difference. This is hands down the best standalone VR headset on the market right now!

Wow! This Headset is Amazing! Experience Well Worth the Investment!
UPDATE: OK, so I’ve had this for months now, and I still love it! I use it every day! It’s so nice to just escape sometimes; once you put it on, you’re no longer in your living room, or your basement… the graphics are that good on some of these apps! My go-to apps are Supernatural: Unreal Fitness (turn the coaches off via the Focus button, as they get annoying after a while), and Beat Saber… I use them every day. Beat Saber has some incredible surrounding graphics and animations, and I love slicing through all the cubes moving toward me to amazing music. Unreal Fitness drops you in really cool places around the world (and some made up, I’ve noticed), and it doesn’t even feel like exercise; it’s so satisfying to break 100% of the glass balls! You just don’t know until you try it, and it’s so believable since the graphics is incredibly crisp and clear! OK… original post below:This is my first experience with VR/AR/MR, as I chose to wait until the graphics were more impressive (actually, I’ve been waiting quite a long time… since VR conversations became fairly commonplace with the release of the Sega Genesis! Yeah… I’m that old.). I’m so glad I started with this unit (Meta Quest 3) because I was truly blown away right from the start! The setup process was easy enough, though it had its quirks (I used an e-mail setup since I don’t use Facebook). In setting up the MQ3 via my phone, I noticed I had to close the app twice to get it to resume where it left off (when you close/reopen, it recognizes you were not done and resumes without issue, so try that if you get stuck). I’ve only had it for a few days and am blown away by the Batman app (I don’t like fighting games, but this is mostly exploring with relatively little fighting), Red Matter (incredible experience; finished it yesterday!), Red Matter 2 (started today and am already hooked!), and I really love the Supernatural: Unreal Fitness program! The first two apps were free (Batman is included in the package I bought here, and Red Matter (the 1st one) came with the free Quest+ trial subscription, and I paid for the latter two. The Unreal Fitness program is $10/month, and totally worth it! You can’t know/understand until you try it, and they do give you a free week trial, btw. I am a runner (all my life) and enjoy staying in shape, and this fitness program is amazing, as they drop you in different (beautiful!) places around the world, and the music is great and the movement patterns are really fun (honestly, I didn’t think I’d like it at first, as it sounded boring… but I’m so glad I kept an open/curious mind and tried it out!). The graphics on the games is so detailed, right down to chipped paint and curling wallpaper on walls, etc… and I love the intuitive movements… I’m the guy who will squat down in these games to check under chairs and desks for clues, and it’s just so amazingly realistic! I did begin to feel somewhat panicked the first time I crawled out of the window in Batman and looked down into the alley from several stories up (and when I entered that huge generator room in Red Matter), but that just added to the experience and believability, so I’m more impressed by it than bothered! In fact, I was so impressed with the overall experience that I bought a set for my wife (she likes it, too) and another for my parents so that they can try it out! Highly recommended! I also bought the Elite Strap Battery for more comfort and to add more play time and I’m glad I did, so consider getting one of those, too (or a similar device). Oh, and you’ll need a rubber/silicone cover for the mask part (that touches your face) to protect that cloth from sweat (not sure why they put cloth there… odd). Anyway, enjoy! I certainly am!

Mixed Reality is WOW!
I can’t not give the Meta Quest 3 a 5 star review. Yes, the head strap is comes with is “meh” and you should definitely replace it ASAP (your welcome!) but aside from that minor annoyance, this device is truly incredible. Coming from a Gen 1 HTC Vive, which I eventually upgraded to a wireless solution later, the Meta Quest 3 still blows the Vive out of the water.Mixed Reality is the future. If this is what the Quest produces now, I can only imagine what we will have available in another 15 years. It’s astounding. If you are on the fence at a $500 price tag please drive down to Best Buy or another electronics store and try it out. You will be blown away.I also really like that via Virtual Desktop (best solution for now…) I can still play my Steam VR games that I used with the Vive. That was a big selling point was to not have to purchase them again. Some of which I don’t even think are available anymore. The device itself is sleek, light, and easy to handle. The controllers take a bit to get used to but soon become second nature. The interface is intuitive and easy to use. The games are fun. Some are incredibly fun. Watching movies and shows on a humongous screen is great. This is something that you want in your life. See ya’ll in the virtual world!

A New Level of Immersive VR!
The Meta Quest 3 is an incredible upgrade to the VR experience! The improved graphics and resolution make everything feel more realistic and immersive. The headset is lighter and more comfortable than its predecessors, which means I can play longer without any discomfort. The setup was a breeze, and the expanded game library offers something for everyone, from intense adventures to relaxing experiences. The mixed reality features are a cool addition, blending the virtual and real worlds seamlessly. If youâre considering VR or upgrading from an earlier model, the Quest 3 is absolutely worth it!

Meta Quest 3 A Stellar VR Experience with Room for Improvement
The Meta Quest 3 is a fantastic VR headset that brings major improvements over its predecessor, but it’s not without a few minor flaws. Hereâs my take on the overall experience the colors are vibrant, the details are sharp, and the addition of mixed-reality capabilities enhances the immersion for those who want to enjoy more visually demanding experiences The flexibility of being a standalone VR headset is a huge plus, and you donât need a PC to enjoy a great experience. However, if you have a gaming PC and want to run more powerful VR titles, the PC VR feature via Air Link or a wired connection is a nice addition, though it can sometimes have connectivity issues depending on your Wi-Fi The Meta Quest 3 is a fantastic VR headset that offers incredible visuals, smooth performance, and solid comfort, but itâs not perfect. While it’s a great standalone VR device, the battery life and some minor heating issues during intense use hold it back from being flawless. Despite these small drawbacks, a great investment for anyone looking to dive into immersive VR experiences. If youâre on the fence, itâs definitely worth considering if you get, I recommend getting BOBOVR S3 Pro with it

Ever since the Oculus Rift was revealed, I knew I wanted to try VR, but unfortunately for me, I didn’t get into it until The Quest 2, which I got for Christmas in 2020.When I had that headset on and those controllers in my hands, I felt power!Since Canada was doing the tax break during Christmas of 2024, I felt like now was a good time to upgrade to the Quest 3. I am so glad I did.If you have a Quest 2, it’s not TOO huge of a leap, but what was added is really nice. The upgraded cameras for Mixed Reality are a nice addition and the controllers no longer have the rings around them, so they collide in your hands way less now.The resolution is higher too, now reaching 4K. I watched Across the Spiderverse on the headset on a large virtual screen while I lay in bed. The screen was crisp and it almost felt like I was at the theatre. If you have the money for it, I absolutely recommend the 3 over the 3S, but the 3S is nothing to scoff at either. The main changes are that the 3 has Pancake lenses and a dial for IPD. These 2 things alone are fantastic. When I first started setting up my Quest 3, It took me a moment to realize I had the headset on because everything was so much clearer than the Quest 2. 3S uses the same fresnel lenses that 2 used, which get the job done, but the pancake lenses are a huge improvement as there is much less blur if your eyes aren’t in the right spot. Instead, it just kind of dims at the edges of the lenses. There’s barely any blur at all on them. The IPD dial is so much better too as it will tell you how many millimetres you are at, instead of finagling with the lenses like in the 2 and 3S. This is great for people who’s IPD didn’t quite match the presets that the 2 and 3s have. These are 2 quality of life features I don’t want to lose any time soon.If you are wondering why I think it’s time to upgrade from 2 to 3, I’ll give you the main reason I upgraded: Batman! Because of course.Arkham Shadow is exclusive to the Quest 3 and it is so good. there are no shortcuts or limitations. It is a full Arkham game in VR and it works REALLY WELL.As time goes on, more VR games will come out that the Quest 2 can’t run, and some games that CAN run on Quest 2 have better graphics on the Quest 3 (Such as Walking Dead Saints and Sinners, and Red Matter 2).So now is a good time to upgrade if you can, even if it’s to the 3S.And if you don’t have a VR headset and are looking to try, now is DEFINITELY a good time to get into it. You will not be disappointed.
