Worth the time to assemble IMO
I have looked at this Sunny exercise elliptical bike many times, read reviews, watched videos, read the specs, and thought about it over and over. I don’t like to buy something without being as sure as I can be that I will really use it and that it’s the right version of whatever it is for me.I have a Sunny spin bike (SF-B1110) and it’s very well built and operates really great IMO. For that reason, I didn’t hesitate to consider this Sunny equipment now. I took a bad fall off of our deck almost two years ago and could hardly walk for months. Slowly I was moving more and now I’m moving pretty good but I still have trouble and lose my footing sometimes. I cannot get my leg up to step over the bar to get on the spin bike now. I need a step and still it’s hard. Also, sitting in that position is hard on my back (after falling), so that is when I started thinking about this recumbent elliptical bike. In my mind it made sense that being able to sit with a backrest was what I needed right now. I really need a way to move enough to get my heart rate up and burn some calories and I thought that having the arm action would really help too.I finally went ahead and ordered one after looking at it on Amazon and the Sunny Health site for months. I’m so glad that I did.First, the box is big and heavy so unless you are the Hulk, I don’t recommend trying to move it yourself. My husband and I managed to get it into the house (up four steps) and slid it into the house. Unpacking the box took about an hour. We opened the bottom of the box (long end), bent the flap back and then stood the box on that long end so that we could lift the box off of the equipment. It slid up easily and proved to be what I think is the best way to open the box.Next I spent time unpacking the various components which were nicely fit into styrofoam and taped on the outside so that nothing spilled out. It took a bit of time but I’m glad everything was packaged so well. That was enough for one day though!Yesterday my husband and I assembled the elliptical bike in the room it would be used it so I carried parts from the main room to that room and got a bit of a workout again. The heaviest component is the frame but I was able to move it myself.I think the instructions were good. The diagrams were a bit small for my eyes but that’s what reading glasses are for. It looks complicated with all of the little parts and lines and labeling but if you read the instruction carefully and then look at the corresponding diagram, it will make sense. We worked our way through it one step at a time and didn’t try to jump ahead when it was obvious that this should go here or that should go there. We waited until instructed because I didn’t want to get ahead and then have to undo something.Getting the long axel into place (the part that the handles attach to, was a little tricky but there’s a glob of grease in the tube and with a few little taps on one end the axel slid through pretty easily.Overall, I think this equipment is very well designed and made, and documented. It would definitely be harder for one person to build but that is possible. Working together it took my husband and I about 2 hours to assemble, a little less. We took our time to make sure we got it right.BTW, it’s not as long as I was expecting which is nice. One reason I hesitated is I thought the footprint would be bigger and that it would be this bulky monster of a thing. it’s not at all and that is a pleasant realization. Even with my achiness, I lifted it using the handle on the bottom of the frame at the back and rolled it around to position it differently from where it started out. It’s heavy but I did fine.Using the elliptical bike is a breeze. Just make sure you know how to slide the slide the seat forward/backward, step through the frame and sit down. Set your feet on the pedals to see if you need to adjust the seat, move it if needed and the go. It doesn’t need to be plugged in to use however, if you want to use any of the programs or you just want to change the pedal tension, you’ll need to plug it in. The plug goes into the front of the frame and then you plug it into a wall outlet. We have Maine Coon cats that like to chew on some things so, because the cord is one of those thin ones, I don’t leave it plugged in. When I’m done, I unplug from the wall and machine and put it up where the cats won’t get at it.I have not tired any of the programs yet, I’m still getting used to using it and working up to doing it more (don’t want to overdo to start because of my injury). I expect that I will really like this machine over time and will use it daily and I’m hoping it will help get my legs stronger and back to walking better. The arm exercise will be great too.If you are thinking about this equipment and it appeals to you, I say give it a try. The only thing is, if you change your mind you’ll probably have to sell it locally because you’ll never take it apart and put it back in the box! Haha!

So far, so good! The app is fine so far
I just recently received this elliptical bike and assembled it this week. Reading the reviews here I was concerned about 2 things with assembly: the left pedal, and screwing in the seat bottom. But things went fine. The axle for the left pedal had the correct screw thread direction. Both pedals attached well and they’re both standing up to use and I don’t have to keep tightening the left one as some have had to do. And the machining for the seat bottom was fine and all screws lined up well and could be tightened. And for reference I’m a 57 yo woman who sometimes assembles furniture and uses tools but is no expert. It is very heavy and I needed my husband to help me move to its location. You’ll need to assemble it where you plan to use it. The hardest part of assembly for me was attaching the swing arms and linking them to the pedals correctly. I used the YouTube video to follow assembly although some parts (the swing arm attachment) were a little different. I noticed that the video instructions had a different order of assembly than the manual but either way should be fine.So far I’ve been doing workouts through the SunnyFit app. I’ve been viewing it on a tv with hdmi but if it were a more recent tv you can mirror the app or use airplay. You set up a profile with your age, weight, height and you then don’t need to enter anything into the machine itself. It will calculate calories burned according to your profile info. I’ve noticed that the calories burned is greatly exaggerated! I had a 30 some minute workout and it said 500 calories burned. But an online calorie calculator suggested for someone my size it should have been about 250 or 300 calories. I’ll have to look into this and see if I can get it to make better estimates. So far I’ve only used “world tour” workouts. Bluetooth connectivity is easy and quick. Some of these workouts have no sound, none have a trainer. I’ve used iFit in the past and that was my favorite part of the app- hearing about an area from the trainer. Sometimes I wish iFit trainer would just quiet down, and I suppose that’s what I’m getting here with the SunnyFit app. Of course since the app is free it isn’t fair to compare. I notice all the workouts with trainers are in the same room, so it’s quite a step down to the sessions with iFit. There is much much fewer selections. When I restrict a search to elliptical workouts of intermediate or advanced workouts there are a couple dozen choices (world tour) and most are for running. Workouts like cross country skiing matches elliptical the best and there is just a handful of those.I’ll try to update after I’ve used it for a while!Edit: I’m about 5’4” and I found I was setting my feet incorrectly and had foot pain. My mistake was to place the back of my shoe against the very bottom of the pedal where there is a little wall. I recommend that for shorter people place your foot in the very middle of the pedal (front to back) so the the strap isn’t over your toes but over the laces of your shoe. It should feel more ergonomic that way

    Great Workout, Heavy Equipment
I am satisfied with my workout as it effectively serves its purpose for me. the weights are quite stable and somewhat heavy for me as a woman, which makes lifting and moving them around a bit challenging.

    Recumbent bike.
Love love love The bike use it everyday and I am down 50 lbs. I think it was a great value for my money and very quiet. You can make it as easy or hard as you want. You can get on and off easily. Love knowing how far I went and how long I rode. Plus I can put my tablet on it and watch a movie.

It’s superb for those with back issues—no additional pain.
This elliptical has a smooth motion. I have arthritis and other diagnoses of my back. I have not experienced any additional pain while using it or after using it. When I was shopping for an elliptical, very few were made to peddle forward and backward. This elliptical has that ability. It is very quiet. Adjusting the position of the seat is easy. The display is large and easy to read. The pedals are 14 14 inches long. Assembling was a bit time-consuming. The value for the money is much higher than I expected.

    Assembly
Great bike. I had it professionally put together for $130.00 and it took them a little over an hour. I love the machine and the workout routines. I would recommend hiring someone to put it together.

Easy setup and great for exercising
Easy setup. I use it on a regular basis to help with my knee issues. Walking puts a lot of stress on my knees and this lets me keep leg strength without the stress on my knees. Would recommend for anyone that wants to keep strength in their legs without the pounding stress of walking or jogging.

This exercise bike is a good deal …It arrived on time, was well package and the instructions for assembly were clear and easy to follow. The bike itself is well constructed and the programming is easy to follow. I do agree with other reviews in that there is a bit of difficulty in aligning the holes during assembly particularly when assembling the seat area, however with a little patience it does come together …if you are looking for a cross trainer bike this is a good bike at a real good price
