Accuracy and Easy Maintenance.
The KONTYNU pedometer is very similar in appearance to another more expensive brand of pedometer which had several complaints about dead batteries and nearly dead batteries. One complaint was that opening the battery compartment and removing the battery was very difficult. One commentator warned not to lose the little screw securing the battery compartment lid. Another commentator said that removing the battery was very difficult. When I checked the battery on the KONTYNU pedometer, the little screw did not separate from battery cover, the battery was easy to remove and the 2032 Lithium battery showed a very high charge level. Reinstalling the battery was quick and easy.The KONTYNU pedometer is a no frills, reliable step counter which is exactly what I wanted. By using the odometer on my truck I was able to determine a 1/2 mile walking distance. I then manually counted the steps to cover this distance in a brisk walk. The total of 1150 steps was nearly an exact match to the number of steps shown on the pedometer when covering this distance. As a result, I now have 4 of these pedometers: 2 for me and 2 as gifts.

Great Gizmo!
If you want a basic, no frills, old-school pedometer, let me recomend this one. Yes, it’s made of plastic, but it seems to be very sturdy. I like not having to connect it to anything else. Put it in your pocket, or hook it to a belt loop in the morning and forget it until the end of the day. Reset it and start over the next morning. What’s not to like?

Not accurate
It doesn’t count steps accurately. I tried it and walked exactly 20 steps, and it counted 32. Tried again and went exactly 50 steps, and it counted 79. I’m aiming for a target number (10,000 steps/day) and there’s no way to know if or when I will actually reach that number because this pedometer is completely unreliable.

As soon as I opened the box I walked all around my kitchen and living room. It said I had walked 0 steps.

It does very well counting steps and you do not have to set anything up.

Overcount steps. It said I did 70,000 steps but it shouldâve been more like 4000.
